There's a good chance that you too were visited by this unwelcome visitor. It was amazing to see how many states were affected by this most recent storm. 2 days of ice then 2 days of snow. I think the city has handled it really well. We have had rolling blackouts, but have done just fine. Its good practice, I guess. The trees seem quite demolished, but surprisingly enough, the buildings survived just fine. We had a few large trees right around our house, but didn't suffer any actual damage to the roof or windows.
We all worked hard to clean up the yard, only to have many more branches fall over the next 24 hrs! Good exercise, makes up for the snow day (or week) food we've been eating.
We fully anticipate becoming very comfortable with things like this propane lantern when we move overseas. Patrick got us all set up!
The kids bedrooms are on the second floor, and our bedroom is the one story part here at the back. It got the bulk of the branches. They're still there, but Patrick is looking forward to the challenge of cleaning them up. I asked him to at least wait until the ice melted, to start climbing on the roof.
pretty soon the ice was covered in about a foot of snow.
For the first time, the kids have little neighbor friends that they really enjoy playing with.
